Why is Todd Bentley/renewal/revival so popular? Why is The Shack and Eugene Petersen’s The Message so popular?
Because people don’t have a powerful walk with the Creator and when they see something popular and identifiable, they gravitiate towards it.
A walk of power and true miracles demands a holy walk with a holy God. And the cost is everything. One must lay his own opinions on the sacrificial altar of what God says and leave them there.
Take “The Message” so-called version of the Bible. When one investigates the history of the Bible, the scribes had to be sure not to altar even one jot or tittle – the smallest details. Only recently have corrupted versions come along.
Why is ”The Shack” popular? It contains 13 MAJOR heresies, and yet it is quoted by millions as authoritative “fiction”.
What of Todd Bentley? People see and feel physical manifestations and somehow this is self-proof; that just because people fall down and jerk/laugh/cry etc it means “God is in the house”.
What it means is “something” is there. But what?
